According to a report by CCTV News, German company Siemens issued a statement announcing that it had received notification from the U.S. Department of Commerce that export restrictions on chip design software to China had been lifted. The company has now fully restored Chinese clients' access to its software and technology.

Additionally, a Bloomberg report on July 2 stated that the Trump administration has at least relaxed export licensing requirements for the sale of chip design software to China, viewing it as part of a trade agreement between the two nations to facilitate the flow of critical technologies.

So far, the other two major EDA (Electronic Design Automation) companies, Cadence and Synopsys, have not immediately responded to requests for comment on whether they have received similar notifications. The U.S. Department of Commerce has also not issued a response.
